Who am I?

My name is Jeff and I’m a 30 something professional who has worked in various finance jobs over the last decade or so, mostly accounting and financial reporting based for “big evil corporations” and smaller and slightly less evil ones.

Over the last few years I’ve gone through a lot of changes… I got married, bought a house, got a dog and in the last couple weeks found out my wife and I will be having our first child later this year.

Despite working in finance for all these years one thing I realized was that I really didn’t know that much about things like mortgages, retirement planning and now, saving for my kid’s college fund.

Because of this I decided to start this blog where I will share my findings and learn from all of you. I encourage all of you to be active in the comments with any questions or suggestions you may have and I will be sure to take the time to answer as many as I can.
