If you want to get your money into a safe place as far as investments go but you don’t know what to do and you don’t have anyone to help, here’s a little tip. You can find low initial investment mutual funds that will help protect your money, no matter how little or big that amount is.

The lowest minimum investment mutual funds that I have found requires an initial investment of only one hundred dollars. This is a rarity but there are numerous funds that require only two hundred and fifty to five hundred dollars. Most people think that they have to sink thousands of dollars to start their mutual fund but this is simply not the case.

Luckily, with today’s economic climate, this isn’t the case. Many mutual funds are only open to employees of insurance companies and other large investment firms, giving them the opportunity to make small initial investments. You can also check with your Human Resources manager to find out if there are any no load mutual funds offered through your company.

You do need to keep in mind that with any mutual fund, you’re typically going to be paying a lot of fees. The lowest fee that I have found is just under five dollars. When you’re only working with a few hundred dollars, this may not really work out for you. However, if you are still interested, you should keep this detail in mind.

No load mutual funds mean that you don’t have to pay commissions. This is the best idea when you’re dealing with low amounts of money being invested at first. You need to look for mutual funds that have an expense ratio that is very low. They may be difficult to find but if you do your research, you can find no load funds that carry only a three percent or less.

There are fund that will charge less than one percent but they often require a bit more of an initial investment. Mutual funds are funds that are held over a group of companies and stocks. When you choose to invest in a mutual fund as opposed to an individual stock, your risk goes down where related to investing.
