When I first found Manilla I immediately assumed it was a financial planning software like Mint.com or Adaptu but Manilla is more of a time saving, account managing service that gets you organized by putting all of your bills and statements in one easy place.
We all have bank statements, credit card bills, and household bills for cable, home phone, car insurance, cell phones, etc. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just put them all in one place? That’s exactly what Manilla does… it lets you access them all in one clean, simple to use interface, plus lets you track any magazine subscriptions and travel rewards programs too!
Click the screenshot below for an example of how Manilla displays all of your accounts. (Note: accounts are not mine 🙂 )

Bill Payment Reminders and Alerts
Ever forget to pay a bill? Of course you have, we all get too busy and it slips our minds. With Manilla you can get a friendly custom reminder of when your bills are due and have not yet been paid.
When you log in to your account you get a nice display of all of your current bills… household bills on the upper left, bank and credit card statements in the upper left, so you can see very clearly what has been paid and what is still outstanding (see screenshot below)… love it!
Get Organized With Your Bills
If you’re like me, you’re always either misplacing your bills or throwing them downstairs in the shred pile with all the other junk mail you get (which is A LOT!). If you’re serious about budgeting, that’s no way to get organized.
With Manilla you’ll never need to figure out where you put that credit card bill or phone bill or cable bill again. Manilla goes out and grabs a copy of your bill and then stores them securely in your account so you always know where to look.
Keep Your Monthly Statements Forever
If you have ever tried to look back for a bank or credit card statement more than 6 months or so you probably found out that most banks don’t save your statements and you need to place a request for it to be retrieved, with Manilla you can look back on all of your previous monthly statements quickly and easily.
Those of you who know me know that I’m far from a technical guru so I’m not going to pretend to know all the latest in computer encryption, but the nice people at Manilla told me that they use the same security standards that all banks and credit cards use, so you know your information will be protected.
Don’t take my word for it though, they break it all down for you here. They can sum it all up much better than I can!
Why is Manilla Free?
I know, I know… nothing is ever free, at least not without a catch! Well fortunately “the catch” doesn’t really impact you. Companies spend a lot of money every time they send you a statement, the paper, the systems to send it, the ever increasing price of postage… lets just say they spend a lot. Why do you think they always want you to “go green”? It’s not because they care about the environment! (Ok that’s a little harsh, maybe SOME care about the environment, but its EXPENSIVE to send you your statements each month!)
Well instead of spending all that money sending you bills and statements, they work with Manilla instead… at a much lower rate. The company wins, Manilla wins, and more importantly you win because it doesn’t cost you a dime. We all like free right? (If you don’t, contact me and I’ll sell you something)
Well that’s pretty much Manilla in a nutshell. Personally I LOVE the clean interface and the fact that they make it very simple to use. I’m terribly disorganized and I get tons of junk mail so keeping track of bills just doesn’t work for me. I’ve set up some pretty sweet spreadsheets to make sure I pay my bills every month but I’m going to ditch them in favor of Manilla.
